The new LEDs' volume is said to be 75% lower than traditional LED lights and they are 30% lighter. Power-saving capacity is 20-30% better and they provide high-performance luminescence and light distribution. The lights also come with a smart connection function, according to the company. Users can integrate information devices, transmit Wi-Fi hotspots, gather environmental information, monitor road security and act as emergency alarms.
Tunghsu Optoelectronic stated that it has upgraded and reconstructed a total of 200,000 graphene LED lights in Beijing and Zhejiang and Hainan provinces, among others. The company expects to develop synergies between the product and its new-energy vehicle business, said company representatives. The company also made plans to invest CNY1 billion ($151 million USD) in a smart city project related to super lights in Mudanjiang city, located in northern Heilongjiang province. It will cooperate with Guangdong-based communication device manufacturer ZTE to promote the use of super lights in the Internet of Things market.
