Learn About 2D Materials for Environment and Energy Applications at Graphene Study 2018
The following is a sponsored message by The Graphene Flagship

Each year the Graphene Flagship organizes a school to educate students and early career researchers interested in graphene and its applications.

"The goal of the school is to bring together students working on related areas of research with experienced scientists from academia and industry," says Graphene Flagship Director Jari Kinaret.

The upcoming edition of Graphene Study will focus on 2D materials for environment and energy applications on 1-6 July 2018 in Hindås, Sweden. Lecturers will delve into deeper aspects of how things work, exploring experimenters' techniques in studying energy and environmental applications for graphene, mainly filtration and energy storage technologies.

Leading academic and industry experts from around the world, including Rohit Karnik from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Aleksandra Radenovic from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne and David A. Pacheco Tanaka from Tecnalia will provide delegates with their insights on topics from nanofluidics and power generation to desalination using graphene.

Furthermore, the event will offer young researchers the opportunity to develop complementary skills, with specific seminars on scientific writing, technology innovation and the use of social media in scientific research. Participants will also enjoy a comprehensive social program.

Registration for the event closes 10 June and students are encouraged to apply for a student grant to defray the cost of attendance. Visit graphene-flagship.eu/Graphene-Study-Summer-2018 to learn more or register for the event.

About the Graphene Flagship

Tasked with bringing together academic and industrial researchers to take graphene from academic laboratories into the marketplace by 2023, the Graphene Flagship is part of the European Union’s largest research initiative ever. With a budget of €1 billion it represents a new form of joint, coordinated research initiative on an unprecedented scale. The Graphene Flagship is an academic-industrial consortium consisting of 145 partners in over 20 European countries, the research effort covers the entire value chain, from materials production to components and system integration, and targets a number of specific goals that exploit the unique properties of graphene.
